Buffett changes his tune. Buffett now argues that because “the favored 400″ highest income Americans only paid a 21.4% tax rate therefore everyone making over ONE million should pay higher taxes. Buffett wants what happens to 400 to apply to 391,000 persons.

The economy’s main job creators are precisely those that earned more than $1 million. Of the 391,000 taxpayers who reported income exceeding $1 million more than 300,000 (roughly 74%) of them met the Treasury Department’s definition of business owners.

What can the government do?

Get out of the way. Reduce regulations.Put all regulations by the EPA since 2008 on hold until the government can prove that the cost is worth the benefit. And let interest rates flucuate. Cheap money causes everyone to sit on cash. There is no “skin” for banks to loan to other banks or to small businesses.

America needs a reversal form the policies of Obama and Harvard type thinkers who have never managed a business or met a payroll.

President Obama has responded to the Egyptian military’s massacre of Coptic Christian protestors in Cairo Sunday with a pointedly even-handed statement that calls equally on Christians and the military to show restraint.

Obama is suggesting that Egypt’s increasingly persecuted Christian minority should show as much “restraint” as their tormentors and refrain from vigorously objecting to the growing abuse.

More than two dozen people, most of them Copts, were killed as security forces attacked demonstrators protesting the burning of a church.

Will America in 2011 & 2012 see violence in the streets due to the re-election strategy of Obama which is to foment class warfare?

First step: Foment class warfare. Hence Obama’s speeches of late rail against the “billionaires and millionaires” who make more than 250 K. Though the top 5% of earners pay about 2/3 of all federal taxes, top earners “don’t pay their fair share” according to Obama.

Second step: Verbally support the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations. Which Obama has publicly done.

Third step: get financial backing for demonstrators from supporters such as Soros and ACORN type groups such as Working Families Party. A recent Y-Tube video interviews a paid volunteer making $22. an hour protesting against Wall Street.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) on Friday strongly suggested that members of Congress are making it difficult for President Obama to raise the debt ceiling because of his race.

“I do not understand what I think is the maligning and maliciousness [toward] this president,” said Jackson Lee, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus. “Why is he different? And in my community, that is the question that we raise. In the minority community that is question that is being raised.

“I hope someone will say that what it appears to be is not in fact accurate,” said Lee. “But historically it seems to be nothing more.”

More sub-prime mortgage lending required of small banks in St. Louis by Midwest BankCentre by Obama’s Justice Department.

Sub-prime mortgage loans played a prominent place in the financial melt-down. Requiring banks to make loans to persons who lacked credit to repay the loans started under Clinton/ Reno and continues today under Obama/ Holder. Now the Obama’s Justice department requires small banks to make risky loans.

Keep a close eye on Obama’s Assistant Attorney General Thomas E. Perez with the Civil Rights’s Division. By his words and actions Obama/ Perez show no understanding that ” Justice cannot be for one side alone but must be for both…” (Eleanor Roosevelt).

Supported in his confirmation by Republicans Tony O’Donnell and John Kane, Thomas E. Perez has zealously pursued Obama’s lopsided form of justice: Assist. AG Perez refused to prosecute Black Panthers wielding baseball bats outside polling places. Assist. AG Perez opposes the Arizona immigration law.

A Renewed Crackdown on Redlining

Community activists in St. Louis [targeted] Midwest BankCentre, a small bank that has been operating in St. Louis’s predominantly white, middle-class suburbs for over a century, for failing to issue home mortgages or open branches in disadvantaged areas. Although executives at the bank say they don’t discriminate, Midwest BankCentre’s latest annual report says it is in the process of negotiating a settlement with U.S. Justice Dept….

“We are using every tool in our arsenal to combat lending discrimination,” Thomas E. Perez, the assistant attorney general for the Civil Rights Div., told a conference of community development associates….

To some banks the crackdown has come as a surprise…. Like Midwest BankCentre, some lenders are being cited for failing to operate in minority and low-income census tracts near their branches, even when they have never done business there before.

Midwest BankCentre Chairman Ronald T. Barnes recently announced the bank would open a branch in Pagedale, a town near St. Louis that is predominantly [97%] African American.

“Perez is playing a leading role in the Justice Department’s lawsuit against Arizona’s new immigration law. He is promising a huge increase in prosecution of alleged hate crimes. He vows to use ‘disparate impact theory’ to pursue discrimination cases where there is no intent to discriminate but a difference in results, such as in test scores or mortgage lending, that Perez wants to change. He is even considering a crackdown on Web sites on the theory that the Internet is a ‘public accommodation‘ as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act.. . . .Perez is pursuing his goals with a lot of muscle, powered by a major appropriations increase in President Obama’s 2010 budget. ‘I am going to be calling each and every one of you to recruit you, because we’ve got 102 new positions in our budget,‘ Perez told the liberal lawyers last year. ‘One hundred and two people, when added to a base of 715 people. … that’s a real opportunity to make a difference.’” (Underscoring Forum’s.)

Two prominent members of governor Bob Ehrlich’s team when he was in office (2003-2007), House of Delegates Republican Whip (Republican leader since 2007) Tony O’Donnell and former Maryland GOP chairman John Kane later (in 2009) wrote here and here to the U. S. Senate Judiciary panel to support Mr. Perez’ confirmation. (John Kane is the husband of Mary Kane selected as Mr. Ehrlich’s running mate this year.)

Alert voters, however, will ask what role Mr. O’Donnell and Mr. Kane will play as part of any leadership team or “kitchen cabinet” should Mr. Ehrlich again be elected governor. After all, Mr. Perez was unlikely to foster an “entrepreneur agenda” – – anywhere – – and those who supported him for Senate confirmation ignored that obvious fact.

Mr. O’Donnell’s and Mr. Kane’s judgment in this matter was clearly lacking. Both had sufficient warning about Perez’ activities.

As Byron York explains – -

“Heading the Civil Rights Division is the opportunity of a lifetime for Perez. A former aide to the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, he was an activist and later a councilman in Montgomery County, Md., where he made a name for himself pushing in-state tuition and drivers’ licenses for illegal immigrants.”

Nor has Mr. O’Donnell nor Mr. Kane expressed any public regret for supporting Tom Perez. Does being part of the Maryland GOP Establishment mean never having to say I’m sorry?

Conservatives might also want to ask Maryland Republican delegates why they have not held their leader Mr. O’Donnell publicly accountable for his support of Tom Perez.

“Take away Reagan/Bush tax cuts and we wouldn’t have a spending problem (Santa Cruz Sentinel, Letter to Editor by Sosbee 4-29-2011).

Wrong. Reagan’s tax cuts lead to unprecedented growth in 1982-84 over 7.1% for 4 straight quarters and over 4% growth for another 2 years.

Obama uses massive government spending (Keynesian economic theory) to fix our problems. Results? So far, no fix. And no support for Keynesian theory. Obama’s massive spending diet does not work.

Obama saddles the country with more debt in 2 years than all other Presidents combined. Bush’s $168 BILLION one-time tax rebates in 2008 were followed by Obama’s $814 BILLION spending, cash for clunkers, the $8,000 home buyer tax credit, the Detroit auto bailouts, and BILLIONS for green jobs. Oh, and ObamaCare which takes over 1/6th of the economy.

Dealing with entitlements is the elephant in the room the Democrats refuse to address. Ryan’s GOP budget does talk about the elephant in the room.

So, how best to rein in Medicare? One way not discussed so far: 1) restore the $575 BILLION which Obama cut. 2) Give seniors — those over 65 as well as those now 55 — the choice of “premium care” (individual choice) versus 15 faceless bureaucrats who congress cannot override.

Yes we’ve got serious spending problems to address. We must reduce the deficit as the number one priority. And do it while preserving freedom of choice, encouraging individual responsibility and allowing free markets to work.

Mr. President, you are wrong. And very importantly your priorities are wrong. Mr. President, during your first year in office you did not focus on the financial crises, the economy or jobs. All you Mr. President focused on was selling your health care bill to the American public.

Medicaid, Medicare, whatever…

“In yesterday’s campaign speech, Barack Obama demonstrated that he really doesn’t understand long term care or nursing home care as it is known to most of us.

Obama made the claim that under the Ryan/Republican debt reduction plan that seniors would have to go on Medicaid to go into a nursing home with their bills being paid by the government. Well for Mr. Obama’s edification, that is exactly the situation right now, under his administration. Like far too many of those ignorant of the issue of long term care, Barry seems to think there is a Medicare benefit for residential status in nursing homes.

The fact is, Mr. Chief Executive of the Federal Government, no such benefit exists.

The Medicare benefit for nursing home stays is limited to what is called skilled nursing stays which normally occur following a minimum three-day hospitalization of a Medicare recipient when that individual is discharged directly from a hospital to a skilled-nursing facility for recuperative care.

Under this program, Medicare will pick up the full tab for only 20 days. A longer stay requires re-hospitalization or certain other qualifiers but under no circumstances is this an open-ended program. In most cases, after day 20 the patient begins to assume the costs up to $128.00 per day from day 21 through day 100….
