comments by Monterey Bay Forum, Psychologist  DrCameron:
Does it matter how we age? Â Who ages most successfully? Â Yes!
George Vaillant, in his book, Aging Wellwhich is based on the Harvard Study of Adult Development, concludes that “[those] who have aged most successfully are those who worry less about cholesterol and waistlines and more about gratitude and forgiveness.â€Â Other researchers also note the improvement in life satisfaction that accompanies their enhancement.  Vaillant suggests that it’s important to:
- Develop a clear sense of the meaning of gratitude and forgiveness
- Consider and appreciate what the research says about the impact of gratitude and forgiveness on the quality of life
- Learn ways to  enhance the development of the capacity both gratitude and forgiveness
The event hosted Aging with Grace, Gratitude and Grit hosted at Resurrection Catholic Community in Aptos, CA on Oct. 9 gives you an opportunity  connect with your faith community.
