Trump’s speech speaks to Amy’s love for America because of what America offers the world: freedom, liberty and the rule of law.
You can hear Amy’s story, why she loves America,  on 1080 AM radio.  Amy’s story was part of  The Saturday Special which  will be re-broadcast July 4 from 10-12 midnight on 1080 AM.  It’s also available in the Archives of the radio station.
As a young woman, Amy married a Jew who was saved at age 18 from a Nazi concentration camp. Her later-to-become husband  weighed only 70 pounds when  carried out by American soldiers.  Later admitted to Harvard’s medical school, her husband vowed he would save lives as his life was saved by Americans.

Trump’s speech was preceded by a speech by the Gov. of South Dakota, Kristi Noem.  Gov Noem  says that 125,000 persons signed up for the 7,500 available seats. This is the first year in 11 years that there have been fireworks at Mt. Rushmore.
Gov. Noem says:Â There are those today who seek to wipe away our history, who see the flaws in our early founders and who deliberately use those flaws to condemn their ideals.
In Gov. Neem’s words,  “Let us not destroy history. Let us learn from it”.
