-Bring on the 2nd amendment [police cannot protect business owners in Seattle]

The Seattle police chief informs business owners that they are on their own against rioters. The city council has tied her hands. The police do not have the tools to combat mob violence . So who will protect against mob violence?

The letter is a wonder to behold — a first for civil society in a modern industrialized country. Law enforcement telling the people they are sworn to protect that government won’t let them do their jobs and that any damage done to the business owners’ property isn’t the fault of the police.

Please also know that the City Council Ordinance 119805 Crowd Control Tool goes into effect this weekend on Sunday, July 26, 2020. This ordinance bans Seattle Police officers the use of less lethal tools, including pepper spray that is commonly used to disperse crowds that have turned violent. Simply put, the legislation gives officers NO ability to safely intercede to preserve property in the midst of a large, violent crowd.

It is important to bring to your attention that yesterday, I sent the City Council a letter ensuring them that as the Chief of Police, I have done my due diligence of informing them numerous times of the foreseeable impact of this ordinance on upcoming events. The letter is attached for your reference.

For these reasons, Seattle Police will have an adjusted deployment in response to any demonstrations this weekend – as I will never ask our officers to risk their personal safety to protect property without the tools to do so in a safe way.

an obvious Chris Wallace lie [Fox News interview with Trump]

Biden seeks to defund the police and  move money to other resources  to do the job the police was doing ?    What does Biden support?   The media – in this case Chris Wallace –  distorts  everything that comes out concerning  the Trump administration.  Here’s one:
When Trump claimed in an interview on Fox News on Sunday that “Biden wants to defund the police,” host Chris Wallace admonished, “Sir, he does not.”
Trump cited the charter that Joe Biden had signed with Bernie Sanders, but he should have mentioned Biden’s response in a July 8th interview when journalist Ady Barkan wanted to know: “The leaders of Black Lives Matter . . . believe that the solution is to reduce the number of interactions that civilians have with the police. We can reduce the responsibilities assigned to the police and redirect some of the funding for police into social services, mental health counseling, and affordable housing. . . . Are you open to that kind of reform?” Biden responded: “Yes, I proposed that kind of reform.”

So much for the BLM farce [Portland protester Lilith Sinclair]

What’s really going on:  On Friday, before the fiftieth night of violent antifa riots, a protester who identified herself as an “Afro-Indigenous non-binary local organizer” declared that she is advocating for the abolition of “the United States as we know it.” This brief declaration arguably encapsulates the destructive spirit of antifa and the impetus behind the violent riots that have ravaged the streets of Portland.

“My name is Lilith Sinclair, I’m an Afro-Indigenous non-binary local organizer here in Portland, organizing for the abolition of not just the militarized police state but also the United States as we know it,” Sinclair declares in a brief video that went viral on Twitter. She also called Portland “stolen land,” proceeding to give Native Americans a “land acknowledgment.” By the way, she also identifies herself as a “sex worker,” i.e. a prostitute.

erase history? change Cabrillo College name?

Erase history  or deal with it and move on?  Some seek to wipe out the name of Juan Rodriquez  Cabrillo from the Cabrillo College (Aptos, CA) name.

Juan Rodriquez Cabrillo was a Spanish explorer  of the CA coastline back in 1542. That’s 400 years ago.

Juan Rodriquez Cabrillo, who   claimed San Diego Bay for Spain, may be  permanently  scrubbed from Cabrillo College.  That depends on what the sub-committee  brings back to the full Board of Trustees and on  how the full  Board votes.

Madison Reach, who now attends U.C. Berkeley, took anthropology 6  at Cabrillo College.  This class is offered in the Spring every other year.   Reach says Cabrillo is a ‘documented serial rapist’ and that his name is ‘offensive’ to her.

So who taught  Anthropology  6 at Cabrillo?   What evidence was presented to students  that Juan Rodriquez Cabrillo,  was  a ‘serial rapist’  400 years ago  in 1542?  Google his name and one finds that   Juan Cabrillo, was Spanish, wealthy,  married  to a  Beatrice and that he  had two sons. Cabrillo missed discovering San Francisco Bay, got as far north as Point Reyes and  died due to an infection in his ankle while protecting his men under attack from natives. Oh dear — fighting with the natives caused his death.  How can we find out more?

How to find out more about Anthropology 6 which is offered at Cabrillo College?     Kristin Wilson is head of the department (831 477 3253).  She  probably knows who teaches the course on native CA cultures.  Whether  there’s ‘documented’ evidence that Cabrillo was a ‘serial rapist’ is ….  that seems unlikely.

Want to let the Board of Trustees know what you think?   Do you support an change in name or not?  How much will it cost for a name change?  Are there better purposes e.g.,  improve accessibility  to the college?

There are 7 Districts, Santa Cruz is in District 4, Aptos is in District 6 and the City of Watsonville has it’s own District, District 5.

The next meeting of the Board of Trustees is August 3, 2020 in Watsonville Center. The following Sept. 14 there’s a meeting in Aptos at the Sesnon House at 6 pm.

Madison Reach was the guest of the Saturday Special on AM 1080 on 7/25/2020. The Saturday Special, intended as a forum for expression of ideas, is hosted every Saturday morning from 10-12 noon by Michael Zwerling.

open those schools? If they don’t … parents get choice where to send kids

Parents get  total choice where to send their children  — e.g.,  home school, charter school, religious schools, on-line –  if local  public schools do not re-open.  The  federal  money to assist schools  will follow the children with the parents making the decision.    So says Trump  on TV July 23.

Trump says:  American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that schools re-open.  Social isolation hurts children in multiple ways.    National Education Association says in-person learning is very important.  Due to school closures it’s estimated that children will be way behind in  both math and reading.  Children are largely not at risk from the virus i.e., they are less that 1 percent of those who get the corona  virus.

Strategy to re-open schools?  Shelter those at highest risk and those lowest to get back to school.  Says Trump.

on 7/23 Trump says that there’s $105 BILLION additional   dollars available for schools  for smaller school  classes, to re-purpose school  spaces, and so children  wear  masks and maintain social distancing.

Trump says:   If schools do not open, the $105 BILLION  new funding goes to parents  to send children to  schools of their choice.  The money will follow the students.  we cannot and must not  stop 50 million children from going to school says Trump.

Aptos Psychologist:   Charter schools in CA have been hard hit by recent legislation which  puts more control in the hands of local school board.  That the ‘money follows the children’ and parents make the decisions is great news. Local public schools have a monopoly and the best way to improve education is to create competition which puts kids first — not teachers and unions first.

War on Cops? Riot against cops?

Know people  who think Black Lives Matter Incorporated — that marxist group that seeks to defund the police   and wants all police ‘gone’ –  is soooo right on?  Belong to a church that offers BLM wrist bands to wear?  The latest jewelry!

Pass along the following info —

COMING SOON: THE FACTS ON CRIME, RACE AND POLICING

Heather Mac Donald is America’s premier expert on the intersection of crime, race and policing.

Mac Donald’s  2016 book The War On Cops remains the definitive treatment of this topic. Sadly, the war on cops has not only been renewed, it has been ramped up to a degree that would have been unimaginable just four years ago.

On Thursday July 30, at Noon Central Time,  Heather will deliver a live online presentation on crime, race and policing, hosted by Center of the American Experiment.

You can go here to sign up for the event and get email reminders. But you don’t have to do that, the event will be live-streamed for everyone on YouTube and Facebook as well as at that link.

Mac Donald’s presentation will be the most thorough explication of the issues of crime, race and policing that you can see anywhere. These topics are surrounded by myth and misinformation that have become pervasive. Heather Mac Donald has the data to pierce through the fog and the courage to lay it out objectively. This is an event you will not want to miss. Mark your calendar, 12:00 Noon Central on Thursday, July 30. And it wouldn’t be a bad idea to sign up for email reminders.

That’s 10 AM in California, folks Remember — Thursday, July 30.  You can  download Mac Donald’s book The War on Cops from Amazon for $9.99.

Will someone please  invite Dr Lewis — the New York pastor who offers Anti-Racist Workshops — to listen in? Ask questions?

The first workshop by Dr. Lewis asked people to take a Pledge:  to learn ‘the Story’ of racism,  and to change ‘the Story’ of racism. That was June 17 &18.  Her next one [go to www.middlechurch.org ] is July 22 and 23 at 4 PM California time.

Dr. Lewis’s opinion is that whites are responsible for racism against blacks and that the problem goes back to Thomas Jefferson and his published views — quite unfavorable –  on blacks.  Remember who Thomas Jefferson was?  That dude  who, totally, wrote the Declaration of Independence.

Privacy matter to you too? Tucker Carlson moves to Florida

Tucker Carlson  moves from Washington D.C.  to a barrier  island in  Florida.  Privacy considerations?   Harassment by the New York Times?  Protect privacy of his family?

Fox News political commentator Tucker Carlson  sold his home in Washington, D.C.’s leafy and affluent Kent neighborhood for $3.95 million after he bought  a $2.9 million home hidden down a private lane amid  tropical foliage on a tiny barrier island off Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Recently back from vacation, on 7/20/2020 Carlson said on his show:   “How would Murray Carpenter and his photographer, Tristan Spinski, feel if we told you where they live, if we put pictures of their homes on the air?” Carlson asked. “What if we published the home address of every one of the soulless, robot editors at the New York Times, who assigned and managed this incitement of violence against my family?”

He added: “We could do that. We know who they are.”

Despite the Times’s denial that an upcoming story would publish Carlson’s residence, his accusation sparked fierce backlash from a number of prominent conservatives, including at least one GOP lawmaker.

“There is absolutely no reason for the NY Times to do this, unless of course it is to intimidate Tucker Carlson — or anyone who has views like him,” tweeted Rep. Eric A. “Rick” Crawford (R-Ark.), sharing a video of the host talking. “This isn’t ‘reporting’ and should be condemned by any news entity who has any credibility left.”

Acting deputy secretary of homeland security Ken Cuccinelli retweeted criticism that the Times is promoting violence against Carlson, adding “That is clearly their intent.

Release YOUR home address? New York Times publicizes conservative’s address

The New York Times plans this week  to   releases information the  home  address  of conservative TV talk host Tucker Carlson, a talk show host that criticizes what the Times publishes.

Why?  So  Carlson  will be harassed at his home  and stop saying what he says about the New York Times.

What does Carlson say about the New York Times? For example, Tucker has criticized the New York Times for publicizing  their Project that America’s birthday was not 1776 but rather when the first slaves were brought to America.  America was founded for slavery and to perpetuate white supremacy — those are the kinds of opinions which the New York Times publicizes.   Tucker Carlson calls these opinions into question and the Times does not like disagreement.

We probably all know people who, because of their work, do not make their home address readily available.   Privacy for family and your home is a place of safety and security are important values to safeguard.

It’s time to tell the New York Times to CHANGE their WAYS.  Right?   Do so!

It’s time to tell the New York Times to “kill” their story on Tucker Carlson — which lists his home address.

The NYT could care less about privacy for Carlson and his family.   We do.  So do you?

Time to tell the New York Times to change their ways.   Right?    DrCameronJackson@gmail.com

Fordham, a Catholic University, condones multiple murders [the Tiananmen Square Massacre]

A Fordham University student is threatening to sue the university after it placed him on disciplinary probation related to two  Instagram posts.

The first  post  on Instagram was a picture commemorating slain retired police Capt. David Dorn with the caption, “Y’all a bunch of hypocrites,” referring to the Black Lives Matter movement which the student  dislikes.

The second  post on Instagram  was an image of Tong holding a legally acquired firearm and the caption, “Don’t tread on me,” along with a hashtag remembering  the Tiananmen Square Massacre, posted on the 31st anniversary of the event. Tong himself left  China when quite young to escape the Chinese communists.

The letter from Fordham Dean of Students Keith Eldredge didn’t specify anything wrong with the  Instagram posts other than the possession of a firearm, referring to social media posts “related to the current racial issues in the country and political issues in China.”

The refusal to specify what was wrong with them shows even Fordham knows how ridiculous this is, and referring to Tiananmen Square as a “political issue in China” sounds like it’s straight out of a Chinese propaganda handbook.

Fordham found that  senior Austin Tong’s posts violated its policies on “bias and/or hate crimes” and “threats/intimidation.” The probation restricts his access to campus, forcing him to finish his degree online, and bars him from participating in extracurricular activities. The university also ordered Tong to complete implicit bias training and to write a letter of apology.
