San Francisco sanctuary city verdict, no Democrats support tax reform & Flynn found guilty of lies … Consequences?

Day of reckoning for sanctuary cities,  tax reform and General Flynn’s lies to the F.B.I.? 

Sanctuary Cities:  With San Francisco’s  not guilty verdict for Kate Steinle’s shooter  — an illegal alien felon who was  deported five times  to Mexico — San Francisco’s sanctuary city laws continue to protect illegals from federal immigration,   I.C.E.  And the consequences likely to be?    Probably more public outcry to protect the safety of U.S. citizens and more  support to build a Wall.

Tax cuts for the middle class:   No Democrats — House or Senate –  support tax cuts for the middle class in 2017.  Wow!  What a change from the last time tax cuts were on the table.  The last time — 16 years ago –  there was major tax reform only 31 Democrats voted against  tax cuts in the Senate and in the House 28 Democrats supported the bill including California.  And what might be the long term  consequences for this epic  policy and political blunder  by  the Democrat Party?  When the average voter has more money in their pocket book and the economy offers higher wages, voters will remember. The middle class has been leaving CA because of high taxes and high rents.  Maybe the Democrat progressives will ‘face the music’ in next year’s elections.  Especially if more sexual predators are identified in the Democrat controlled legislature?

Lies to the F.B.I.:   And General Flynn  — that NSA adviser who Obama ‘unmasked’  now  found guilty because e he lied to the FBI.   Flynn served as NSA adviser  for about one month and  was fired by Trump because he lied to his boss, Vice President Pence. Trump’s son-in-law  Jared Kushner  told Flynn to make the call concerning which he later lied to the F.B.I. Reports suggest that Kushner’s influence is waning fast.

Not guilty in death of Kate Steinle – they weighed all the evidence.

 

Kate Steinle, July 2015 – killed in San Francisco

  Yes he’s guilty of possession of a firearm. No he’s not guilty of killing Kate Steinle.    Hard to believe.  That’s the verdict. The jury weighed all  the evidence.

The bottom line:  In San Francisco, an undocumented immigrant with Garcia Zarate’s exact criminal history  can still  be released from jail to the streets without a call to alert Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.)

A jury has found Jose Ines Garcia Zarate not guilty in the July 2015 death of Kate Steinle in San Francisco. He was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

 The jury has reached a verdict in the trial of Jose Ines Garcia Zarate, a Mexican citizen and undocumented immigrant charged in the 2015 killing of Kate Steinle in San Francisco. The case became a political lightning rod in the debate over immigration policy.

Garcia Zarate had been deported from the US five times prior to Steinle’s 2015 death in San Francisco.
Garcia Zarate, 45, faced a charge of second-degree murder, but jurors were also allowed to consider first-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter convictions.
Garcia Zarate was accused of fatally shooting Steinle, 32, with a Sig Sauer .40-caliber handgun as she and her father walked on San Francisco’s Pier 14.

Zarate, of Mexico, had been deported several times and has previous convictions for re-entry after deportation. Before the killing, he had been released from a San Francisco jail after a minor drug charge was dismissed. While U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had issued a detainer for Zarate, he was released under the city’s sanctuary laws.

Zarate had claimed he found the gun used in the shooting wrapped in a T-shirt under a bench and that it went off accidentally, The Associated Press reported.

“We’re just shocked — saddened and shocked … that’s about it,” Jim said “There’s no other way you can coin it. Justice was rendered, but it was not served.”

Brad said he was “not surprised,” considering the “epic failure” that led Garcia Zarate to be released on the streets, and end up with a loaded handgun on the pier that day.

“I’m stunned that they couldn’t even get him on using the weapon,” Brad said.

“The Steinles have a decidedly nuanced view on sanctuary cities. They support the concept as a way to encourage immigrants, regardless of legal status, to come forward as victims or witnesses to crimes without fear of deportation. Yet they believe San Francisco went too far when then-Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi effectively ordered his department to cut off communication with federal immigration authorities.

They also expressed frustration at the sanctimony and stubbornness of San Francisco politicians. In response to the outrage over Kate’s killing, the city modified its sanctuary policy only slightly, allowing notification of federal immigration authorities only when a person convicted of certain violent crimes is about to be released.

The bottom line: An undocumented immigrant with Garcia Zarate’s exact criminal history still could be released from jail to the streets without a call to alert Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Trump’s  second-quarter salary was donated to the Department of Education, where it was to be used to host a STEM-focused camp for children.

Trump’s third-quarter salary goes to fight opioid addiction. 

Addiction to various drugs has become a national health crises.

On Thursday, acting HHS Secretary Eric Hargan announced at the day’s press briefing that Trump’s third-quarter salary would be donated to the Department of Health and Human Services. The money will assist with the department’s fight against the opioid epidemic. Hargan said that it will be used to fund a “large-scale public awareness campaign.”

 Trump made the opioid epidemic a big part of his campaign, and he did very well in areas that have been ravaged by the drugs. More Americans died from opioid overdoses in 2016 than during the entire Vietnam War, and the problem has only worsened. Earlier this year, First Lady Melania Trump visited a specialized treatment center in West Virginia for babies who were born addicted to the drug.

In an March 15, 2017 article written by Joseph Geha for the East Bay Times, the chairman of the City of Fremont California’s Human Relations Commission, is quoted as saying: “There are strength in numbers. The more communities, the more cities that sign on to sanctuary city status, the more difficult it will be for the federal government government to do anything about it.”  [The Fremont city council passed its sanctuary resolution that day.]

     A ‘sanctuary flash mob’ strategy does appear to be the progressive Democrats’ plan to overwhelm President Trump’s efforts to rein in sanctuary jurisdictions by  threatening cuts in  federal funding.

     Since President Trump released his Executive Order, the trend has been a sharp increase in the number of sanctuary resolutions being passed across the country.  That trend slowed after US Attorney General Jeff Sessions began to also publicly warn that sanctuary jurisdictions’ might lose federal funds.

Some sanctuary cities then began to double down on their policies and file lawsuits claiming that the federal government can’t cut some or all the threatened funding.

     Ultimately, the sanctuary battle will continue in the federal court system and likely be decided by one or more separate U.S. Supreme Court decisions.

First Baptist Church murders: San Antonio hero grabs gun & chases bad guy Devin Kelley

By our actions – we are known.  Two Americans  stands tall.  What we know so far:

The bad guy  who murdered 25+ people , including the 14 year old  daughter of the Pastor,  is Devin Patrick Kelley, a  26-year-old white male, of New Braunfels, a suburb of San Antonio,

Besides those murdered, many more are hospitalized and some in serious condition.

Kelly  was discharged from the military related to charges of abuse to his wife and child.

Kelly  knew people who were members of the church.

  •  Kelly was as found dead in a crashed car after a brief chase following the shooting
  • Was dressed in all black, tactical gear with a ballistics belt and multiple weapons in his car
  • Fired outside the church, then went into the church and continued to fire
  • Resident near the church intervened, and knocked the gun out of Kelley’s hands, then chased him in his car
  • Kelley showed off an AR-15 rifle on Facebook recently
  • Served in the military in ‘cargo, demand and supply and distribution’ but was dishonorably discharged
  • Was married and believed to have taught a Bible studies at Kingsville First Baptist Church

On Sunday, Kelley was spotted moments before the shooting, at around 11.20am, at a Valero gas station, ‘dressed in all black, tactical gear, wearing a ballistics belt’.

In a press conference, Texas Department of Public Safety Regional Director Freeman Martin, said Kelley had then ‘crossed the street to the church, exited his vehicle and began firing on the church. He moved to the right side of the church and continued to fire, and entered the church and continued to fire.’

But as he left the church, the unnamed local hero risked his life to stop him.

‘A local resident grabbed his rifle and engaged the suspect,’ Martin said. ‘The suspect dropped his rifle, which was a Ruger assault type rifle, and fled from the church.

He and another local citizen pursued the subject at that time.’

Russian internet trolls sow discord & oppose Trump after the election

 

Russian firm — Internet Research Agency — continues to churn out discord via Facebook

Long term Russian interference:  Before and after 2016 elections the  Russian internet trolls sowed discord.

After the 2016  election,  Russian trolls opposed Trump–  writing posts that Trump  is  not a  legitimate President.  So we learn today from Facebook  lawyers testifying about Russian manipulation of Facebook via political ads.

One Russian firm — Internet Research Agency — churned out  80,000 (80 K) posts on Facebook  from Jan. 2015 through August 2017. “Most of these posts and ads are deeply disturbing” says Facebook General Counsel Colin Stretch.  “Coming from foreign actors using fake accounts is simply unacceptable.”

Internet Research Agency pits groups against other groups.  

Per the WSJ Oct. 31 2017, Facebook, Google and Twitter will divulge new details showing the scope of Russian backed manipulation both before and after the 2016 elections.

Twitter and Google testify Nov. 1 2017 in front of the House and Senate intelligence committees which are conducting probes to uncover what happened during the campaign for President.

Lawyers for Facebook testify that Russians sought to de-legitimize the Trump Presidency after the elections.

So how does this square with mainstream media’s narrative for this past year  of collusion by Trump with Russia? It does not square.

Allahu Akbar! Murder in Lower Manhattan New York on Oct. 31

 

“God  –Allah — is Great!”  and  8 are now dead. Those words were  shouted  by a terrorist in Manhattan Oct 31, 2017. His rental truck struck bike riders from behind.

Shout  Allahu Akbar!  –  and too often some  people die.  Murdered.   Near the World Trade Center   eight people were killed and a dozen were  hospitalized  Oct. 31, 2017.

Terror fomented by ISIS.

Those who died come from many places.   One Belgium was killed and three injured. Argentine citizens are among the dead.

Today, Oct. 31,  an ISIS terrorist attack via  an  rental truck plowed through helpless riders on a Lower Manhattan bike path.

The driver originally  from  Uzbekistan,  Sayfrillo Saipov,  yelled “Allahu Akbar!” — Arabic for “God is great!” — after running the riders down from behind, their mangled bodies left scattered behind his runaway white pickup.

The 29-year-old suspect, Sayfrillo Saipov, 

described as Middle Eastern, was arrested after a hero police officer shot him in the abdomen  following a crash between the truck and a school bus.

Saipov  was waving an paintball gun and had  a pellet gun when cops reached the scene.  He  has  worked for Uber as a driver  and has lived a number of years  in Tampa, Florida. Two businesses are registered in his name.

He has lived in the U.S. since 2010.    The terrorist  left behind handwritten notes pledging loyalty to ISIS with an image of an ISIS flag inside his vehicle.

Chicago can’t spare cops to investigate death of man ‘found floating’ in Lake Michigan.

Dispatchers tried to assign the drowning call around 2 p.m. But every 19th District cop was tied up, assigned to other duties–like watching the mayor’s house.

This may strike you as odd, but while that man was dying on the sand, there were seven cops doing essentially nothing in the same police district. Two were assigned to sit in front of Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s house at 4228 N. Hermitage. Another two were committed to sitting in the back of the mayor’s house. Another two were assigned to a roving car that circles the mayor’s home. And the seventh was the sergeant in charge of the mayor’s castle guard.

Be like Miami which complies with ICE  —  and not like  sanctuary city Chicago  & a handful of other jurisdictions is message Jeff Sessions  says today, Wed. August 16.

Jeff Sessions compares Miami — which is complying with federal immigration authorities with Chicago which is not.

Chicago has 433 murders this year  since Jan. 1 — compared with Miani which has zero.

In Chicago, no suspect is identified in 75% of the murders.

Only a handful of jurisdictions in America believe they are above the law and are not complying with federal authorities.  Choose to follow the law, says Jeff Sessions.

Asylum seeker molests 14 in Austria. Sentence?

Welcome to Austrian justice.  

A  25-year-old asylum seeker from Afghanistan has been sentenced to two years in prison for sexually molesting 14 women over a four month period.The Afghan migrant was sentenced in Vienna this week after admitting he had molested over a dozen women between the ages of 18 and 36. He is said to have hung around the Reumannplatz area from November to February in the evenings and at night to find his victims, Die Presse reports.

“I have made mistakes and beg your pardon, I know I am guilty,” the migrant told the court. He is said to have approached his victims from behind and then held them and tried to touch their genitals against their will. In five of the attacks he succeeded in molesting the women and in the other nine cases, the women were able to fight him off.

One victim told the court how the migrant had approached her and grabbed her. She claimed that after she screamed the migrant let her go. She also noted that as a result of the attack she now suffers from panic attacks and is afraid to go out alone at night.

Some of the victims told the court how they fought the man off with kicks to the abdomen and one with pepper spray. The Afghan was eventually caught by police after security camera footage and police surveillance of the area led to his arrest in February.

The 25-year-old said that he had come to Austria to seek asylum from the Taliban in his home country and told the court he had already completed several courses.
