Obama-Care’s individual mandate penalties –what you pay if you don’t buy government approved health coverage— are best described as a flying, freebie carrot dispensing machine. With pilot Obama at the controls.
Obama will turn the individual mandate penalties into carrots which he dispenses free to all whom Obama decides cannot afford.
So, remember the motto of the Scouts: Be Prepared! How? Know the history and know what Obama’s next step is likely to be.
History: Is it a fine? At first, the Obama administration defended the Obama-Care individual mandate as a “fineâ€. This argument is weak as the Supreme Court could reject this expansion of the Commerce Clause as without precedent and limitless. If not to act is an act ,what other acts can government demand? That is not a path the Supreme Court is likely to go.
Is it a tax? Currently Obama’s lawyers, now before the Supreme Court, defend the individual mandate as a “taxâ€. And much as people moan about taxes they are commonly viewed an inevitable as death.
But remember Obama’s campaign promise: no increase of taxes for the middle class making less than $250,000. So, Obama needs to call the individual mandate something else.
So Obama will frame the individual mandate as neither fish nor fowl – neither fine nor tax. Then Obama will mandate it as something given free to all whom he deems cannot afford it.
All good things are free according to Obama. Hence, the cost of Obama-Care must be free to those who Obama thinks can ill afford it: youth, those receiving unemployment benefits, Food Stamp recipients, those who pay no federal taxes.

I, President Obama, mandate that the initial cost for health care is free to all who cannot afford it. This is only fair.
If you are a youth 18-25 and never had a job? It’s free….
If you lost your job and have not yet found another one? It’s free.
And for those who are on Food Stamps and can show that they are looking for a job? It’s free.
And if you already do not pay federal income tax, you should not be further burdened.

Sam Farr congresman from CA has no comment re NOAA fines for biologist and jet ski use to save surfers
Federal agency National Oceanographic & Atmosphere Administration (NOAA) recently pressed criminal charges and has levied huge fines against a nationally known biologist for feeding large fish.
Also, NOAA recently levied enormous fines — which keep going up — against two persons using jet skis to save surfers in Monterey Bay.
The overall issue is that a federal agency (NOAA) under Obama and with the blessing of local congressman Sam Farr now controls access of the public to use of Monterey Bay. Do you accept this control?
Because the jet ski users are contesting the charges, NOAA’s response has been to double and triple the fines. Per discussion by Dr. Bill on radio 1080, NOAA is acting as judge, jury and prosecutor and not allowing any defense.
Sam Farr, congressman for the Monterey and Santa Cruz, CA area, refused to come on a local radio show Saturday, Jan. 14 and discuss his views of NOAA and the legal charges against people using the Monterey Bay for work and play. Sam Farr’s office likewise did not contact the radio station. Farr’s offices were contacted repeatedly without success.
“Put a sign on your car, in your window and on a telephone pole telling Sam Farr what you want” says Dr. Bill on 1080 Radio. “Or just write, Sam Farr — Farr Out!”
NOAA’s senior positions are filled with political appointees who push for the political agenda of the current administration. Dr. Bill refers to NOAA as the “green Gestapo”.
Per the 1080 radio show Jan. 11, 2012 NOAA spent millions of Obama Stimulus money on a new building close to the beach at Asilomar CA state park in Monterey, CA. NOAA will not permit any non-native plants in the area and has built a building which, to put it mildly from the comments of listeners to the raido show, does not blend into the environment. How does the economy “feed” people on a pie that shrank  from a 8″ apple pie to a 6″ pot pie? You sure can’t get 8 slices from a chicken pot pie and  feel fed! And that emply feeling in people’s belly is because the economy in Jan. 2012 has 5.8 MILLION fewer  jobs compared to peak employment in 2007.   More below based on the WSJ Jan 7-8, 2012
The private economy created 212,000 net new jobs in December, 2011 taking the unemployment rate down a tick to 8.5% which is better than the 9% three months ago. A sign of employment weakness is the still-low labor force particiaption rate, which remained unchanged at 64% A year ago it was 64.3% Remember — that means that ONE-THIRD of the labor force is not working compared with TWO-THIRDS that are.  Another 50,000 workers left the labor force in December, 2011 suggesting that many Americans simply stopped looking for work.
This is still the slowest job rebound since the Great Depression. A year from now, if no policies change, Mr. Obama’sx bombs will explode at once with the expiration of his payroll taxholidayandthe rollout of ObamaCare’s levies.

What happens when you get your car washed in California over the Christmas holidays?
Just before Christmas I took our car, the inside full of German Shepard dog hair and the outside dirty, to the car wash in Capitola, CA. I bought the $25. Whole Enchilada (inside and out) selection.
A manager came over to say that, because the car has so much dog hair, that I needed to purchase a custom job which costs $70.
I replied, “No, the general manager has told me – and I have in writing – that I can come in any time and get this car vacuumed only for $7.00 Because I know that the car is dirty and I want the inside vinyl cleaned also, I want the $25. selection.”
The man then said, “Well, OK, but we have to charge you an extra $3 per mat….”
So what’s going on here? Haggle over the price. Get the customer in the door and then jack up the price and see if the customer caves. If they don’t cave then go with the listed prices. Having lived a number of years in Latin American countries this was was familiar territory. Price is a much more fluid thing in Mexico and elsewhere.
So, I said, “Look, you have prices listed up there on your signs. There is no sign that says someone is going to evaluate my car as to how hairy it is and then tell me what to pay. So, please just provide me the Whole Enchilada service. And yes, because I do what the inside very clean, I will pay an extra $6 for you to wash two mats.”
Next step: a smiling, very polite Hispanic man in his late 50’s — who only spoke Spanish — started to vacuum my car. As I speak Spanish I thanked him for his help. And, a number of times encouraged him to do a bit more saying in Spanish, “Oh, a little more work here….” As the cleaning of the inside is what I was most interested in so I hung around to make sure that the car was vacuumed to my satisfaction.
All I had to do was run my finger along the edges, pull out mounds of more hair and smile. The Hispanic Spanish speaking man, a hard worker, smiled back at me and kept on vacuuming.
Step three: The car, after going through an automatic washer, was rubbed down and wiped off by a team of three men. The three men doing this job spoke mostly Spanish and one spoke English to me. They were friendly, hard working and appeared to be age 30 to 45.
Listening to the cleaners talk amongst themselves I heard only Spanish spoken. The manager also spoke only Spanish to the workers.
My question:How likely is it that a locally born, White, 18 year kid looking for an entry level job who only speaks English will be offered a job at that car wash? Very unlikely. And, in all the times I have gotten my car cleaned at that car wash, the workers were all Hispanic, largely only Spanish speaking men of differing ages.
Think about the Big Issues: One is the huge cost of U.S. entitlement programs — including the cost of Social Security Disability. I know as a psychologist because I work with disabled persons that many people on SSI Disability could be employed for 3-5 hours a day with support to clean cars. We also have many U.S. citizens with low cognitive IQ abilities who also could do this work.
It’s time to put Americans to work doing what they can do. If a disabled American can do 2-5 hours work in an entry level job such as washing cars (with job supports in place) that is far better than a life looking at life through TV.
English should be the language spoken in the work place so that all American citizens can compete for beginning level jobs such as car washing.

The president and his family are vacationing with much fanfare, publicity, and controversy in Hawaii.
And the former Speaker of the House, Democrat Nancy Pelosi, champion of the poor and the disenfranchised, “is once again spending her Christmas at the exotic Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at Historic Ka’upulehu in Kona on the island of Hawaii.â€
The cost for Nancy Pelosi’s vacation? $10,000 per day.
In addition to the $10,000 per day cost that Nancy Pelosi will be spending, her stay will cost Hawaiians some cash: “Pelosi has been escorted by local police during her last two holiday visits to Hawaii Island at a cost of $34,000 to local taxpayers.â€

Occupiers of Port of Oalnad take wages away from truckers
Occupy Wall Street protesters succeeded in shutting down overnight operations at California’s port of Oakland on Monday night after a day of similar protests in several other U.S. cities.
“I’m just barely getting on my feet again after two years, and now I gotta go a day without pay while somebody else has something to say that I’m not really sure is relevant to the cause,” trucker Chuck Baca told CNN affiliate KGO.
These are children out here, what do they know?” another truck driver fumed while young protesters displayed an Occupy banner on his truck. “I don’t even know what their movement is. All I know is, I’m losing a day’s wage.”
“What happened today is that they at the port didn’t lose any loads. They didn’t lose any money,” said Ron Coleman, 52, a trucker from Reno waiting to pick up an empty container and head east. “The only people who lost money was us.”
Two terminals were shut down at the Port of Portland during the morning, and the small Washington state port of Longview closed when roughly 100 protesters staged a dawn rally. There also were standoffs at ports such as Long Beach and San Diego, but all terminals at those facilities remained open.

Why $6 million in bonus pay to five top officers at Freddie? Non-sense!
The Federal Housing Finance Agency, the government regulator for Fannie and Freddie, approved $12.79 million in bonus pay after 10 executives from the two government-sponsored corporations last year met modest performance targets tied to modifying mortgages in jeopardy of foreclosure.
The executives got the bonuses about two years after the federally backed mortgage giants received nearly $170 billion in taxpayer bailouts — and despite pledges by FHFA, the office tasked with keeping them solvent, that it would adjust the level of CEO-level pay after critics slammed huge compensation packages paid out to former Fannie Mae CEO Franklin Raines and others.
Securities and Exchange Commission documents show that Ed Haldeman, who announced last week that he is stepping down as Freddie Mac’s CEO, received a base salary of $900,000 last year yet took home an additional $2.3 million in bonus pay. Records show other Fannie and Freddie executives got similar Wall Street-style compensation packages; Fannie Mae CEO Michael Williams, for example, got $2.37 million in performance bonuses.
Including Haldeman, the top five officers at Freddie banked a combined $6.46 million in performance pay alone last year, though a second bonus installment for 2010 has yet to be reported to the SEC, according to agency records. Williams and others at Fannie pocketed $6.33 million in incentives for what SEC records describe as meeting the primary goal of providing “liquidity, stability and affordability†to the national market.

What is the underlying cause of the world financial crisis?
Per the WSJ, it was the breakdown of the postwar Bretton Woods monetary system and the unleashing of fiat currencies and central-bank printing presses.
In 1971, the Nixon administration killed the gold standard. In the early 1980’s, financial deregulation removed barriers to unlimited amounts of credit.
Uncle Sam went from a hard money regime to one where money became purely paper.
Today, there are no restrictions remaining on the power of governments to finance unlimited debt.
Banks can create credit seemingly without limit. Central banks have become the real power in the world economy.
So let’s go back to what worked — the Gold Standard.
