Call the Red Cross! It’s a New Year …[Safe zones at Brandenburg Gate]

Safe  zones to protect women on  New Year”s Eve  2017 at Brandenburg  Gate in Germany

Safe zones to protect women  on New Year’s Eve, 2017, when partying at Brandenberg Gate in Germany.

New Years Eve in Berlin

Out of fear for a replay of what happened two years ago in the city of Cologne  — when groups of migrant men abused dozens of German women celebrating the arrival of the new year –  the city of Berlin has decided to create “safe zones”  for women at the New Year’s celebration at Brandenburg Gate.

On New Year’s Eve 2015, about 1,200 women became victims of sexual assault in several major German cities, with more than 600 women attacked in Cologne and about 400 victims in the northern German city of Hamburg.

Prosecutors established that more than 2,000 men were involved in the assaults, but only a tiny fraction — about half of them foreign nationals who at the time had only recently arrived in the country — had been identified a year later.

It took months for the full scale of the 2015 assaults to emerge, but when prosecutors released their final estimates, Germans’ attitude toward refugees changed dramatically:

To many, New Year’s Eve 2015 is the night Germany’s welcoming attitude toward newcomers ended. Leading politicians called for tougher deportation laws soon thereafter.

In Berlin on New Year’s Eve 2017, women can go to the safe zones when they are harassed or simply don’t feel safe.

The safe zones are guarded by members of the Red Cross. There will also be psychologists present to help the women deal with the abuse they might suffer.

The safe zones were created at the request of Berlin’s police department. Earlier, the October Fest in Munich experimented with these safe zones, which proved to be very useful.

In addition to creating safe zones, the police have also informed would be partygoers that they are not allowed to bring their own alcoholic drinks to the party at Brandenburg Gate, or even to carry a backpack with them. They can go to the celebrations with their wallet and smartphone, and that’s about it.

Boar hunting or mama? [Royal Family traditions]

mama or boar hunting?

Mama wins.  Prince Harry refused to take part in the Royal Family’s traditional Boxing Day shoot on Tuesday so as not to upset his ‘part-vegan’ activist fiancée Megan  according to reports.

Gamekeepers at the Sandringham estate, where Harry first joined his family at the annual shoot more than 20 years ago, were “stunned” by the prince’s decision, according to The Sun.

“The Boxing Day shoot was always going to be a tricky issue. Meghan is a keen animal rights campaigner and doesn’t like hunting in any form,” an insider source told the newspaper.

“Harry loves it and has always been out there on Boxing Day. But if it means breaking with long-standing royal traditions to avoid upsetting her, so be it. It’s fair to say that there are some pretty stunned faces around here.”

The move was described as a “major departure” for the prince— a keen marksman who earlier this month flew to Germany for a boar hunt whilst his actress wife-to-be stayed in Los Angeles with her mother.

A friend of Harry’s said:  “If Meghan’s not comfortable with him doing the shoot, he wouldn’t want to upset her.” The  wedding is scheduled in May, 2018.

does he/ she rub your back OK? What say FBI agents Page & Strzok & Mueller investigation of Trump

Does he/ she rub your back OK? Is that what Mueller’s FBI agents say?

Does he rub your back OK?     What over diner do  Mueller’s FBI agents Page and Strzok –involved in the Trump investigation –  say to spouses?  ‘Pass the peas?’

What do  FBI agents  Strzok and Page — both married to different people  –   say to their spouses  over dinner tonight (Dec. 13, 2017)   now that it  comes out what they have  been doing [having a sexual affair] and sending text  communications back and forth about their dislike of Trump. And how to save the country from a possible President Trump.

Do Page and Strzok  say, ‘Pass the peas?’  On Wed. FBI agent Page and her husband Barrow left  their home to do what they do, i.e, get children where they have to go.

Clearly,  Special Investigator Mueller did not check out the political  bias of those he put on his crack team.  Clearly Mueller did not do his homework.  Now it’s unraveling …  Why did Mueller put the lead FBI agent Stzok involved with the Clinton emails  [he sat in on the interviews and recommended changing the language so more supportive of Clinton] also on the team investigating Trump?  That was Mueller’s bad decision.

How does  the Page/ Strzok  sexual  affair and their communications back and forth impact the image of the FBI and  USA federal government. Both Strzok and Page were and are pro-Clinton and anti-Trump and have been  so for a long time.

And – very importantly also — how does the publicity about all this  impact their children and their families?

Yes – this info  may impact the Mueller investigation of Trump.

Right now it is such good drool humor about the inner workings of the prior Obama administration …. please keep more of it coming. Please don’t kill this investigation. Somewhere it will surface that Obama had a hand in all this.

Look don’t touch! — woman’s cleavage an invitation says Rep Marccy Kaptur [D-Ohio]

cleavage  can be an invitation to harassment says Rep Marcy Kaptur privately

Clothing which shows cleavage an invitation to harassment  says Rep. Marcy Kaptur  [D-Ohio] privately.

“I saw a member yesterday with her cleavage so deep it was down to the floor,” Kaptur said, according to the sources present. “And what I’ve seen … it’s really an invitation.” The comments left many others in the room stunned, the sources said. From Politico.

Kaptur said women on Capitol Hill should have to abide by a stricter dress code, like those adopted by the military or corporations.

“Maybe I’ll get booed for saying this, but many companies and the military [have] a dress code,” she said. “I have been appalled at some of the dress of … members and staff. Men have to wear ties and suits.”

Invite a cockroach for dinner? At veterans hospital …

Swat those  cockroach! A veterans hospital in Miami, Florida, was so filthy it required a deep clean and fumigation after the area failed an October safety and sanitation inspection.

The inspection report, obtained by the Miami Herald, found evidence of “grimy drawers and storage racks,” “unrefrigerated foods” and even “insects and rodent droppings.”

The report provided the cafeteria with a number of scores on their following of health and safety regulations, with the establishment scoring zero points on a number of key issues such as the sanitation of storage equipment, keeping walls, floors, and cooking equipment clean, as well as ensuring the employees were not at risk of falling over due to slippery floors.

“There are now no reported issues involving the canteen kitchen,” said hospital spokesperson Shane Suzuki on Thursday. “Out of an abundance of caution … we conducted a thorough extermination, deep clean and re-inspection of the entire canteen.”

Suzuki added that the food of hospital patients were not affected by the unsanitary conditions because their meals are prepared separately from the public cafeteria, known as the Patriot Café.

“We have a completely separate food preparation area for inpatient food service,” he said.

The report’s whistleblower, Scott Davis, who previously testified before Congress over the sub-standard treatment that veterans are receiving, told the Herald that “roaches and food is a consistent thing throughout the VA,” and cited another example of cockroaches being a “persistent presence” at a veterans hospital in Illinois.

According to a report from the Office of the Inspector General on the Illinois facility, authorities were aware that patients were receiving meals containing cockroaches but did not attempt to solve the problem.

In recent years, VA hospitals have been plagued by numerous cases of appalling treatment, which include patients being infected with diseases such as Hepatitis and HIV due to lack of infection control, dead bodies being left unattended for multiple hours, and hundreds of veterans dying on long waiting lists for the necessary care they had requested.

During his presidential campaign, President Donald Trump pledged to fix the wait times and overall problems surrounding the Veterans Affairs and drew up a ten-point plan to reform the department as a whole. In his first White House budget, Trump signed a ten percent increase in spending for the department.

Donate your salary? Where Trump donates his salary?

Donate your salary?  Where Trump donates his salary?

His first-quarter salary went to the National Park Service, where it was used to preserve part of the Antietam Battlefield.

Trump’s  second-quarter salary was donated to the Department of Education, where it was to be used to host a STEM-focused camp for children.

Trump’s third-quarter salary goes to fight opioid addiction.

Addiction to various drugs has become a national health crises.

On Thursday, acting HHS Secretary Eric Hargan announced at the day’s press briefing that Trump’s third-quarter salary would be donated to the Department of Health and Human Services. The money will assist with the department’s fight against the opioid epidemic. Hargan said that it will be used to fund a “large-scale public awareness campaign.”

Trump made the opioid epidemic a big part of his campaign, and he did very well in areas that have been ravaged by the drugs. More Americans died from opioid overdoses in 2016 than during the entire Vietnam War, and the problem has only worsened. Earlier this year, First Lady Melania Trump visited a specialized treatment center in West Virginia for babies who were born addicted to the drug.

Freedom to choose: Pocahontas can now “self identify” as a “person of color” at Brown University

Freedom to choose to be a “person of color” at Brown University.

Freedom to choose:   Pocahontas/ Elizabeth Warren  can now  “self identify”   as  “person of color”  at Brown University.  Be the minority  you want to be?

Brown University has announced a change to their application process that will allow applicants to “self-identify” as a person of color.

According to The College Fix, the policy is the result of complaints made by Asian-American and international students that they aren’t yet categorized as members of historically underrepresented groups. Historically, Brown has restricted minority status to “American Indian, Alaskan Native, African American, Hispanic or Latinx and Native Hawaiian and/or Pacific Islander” students.

Firrenze Sage on German asylum seekers: As Butch Cassidy said,”Who are those guys?”

Asylum seekers in Hamberg,  Germany.  So, “who are those guys?” as Butch Cassidy said.  Not adults it turns out.  They claim to be children but are really adults.

49 per cent of the migrants who have claimed to be underage in the city of Hamburg Germany  this year are actually adults, according to a new report from the Social Security Board.

The number is up from figures from last year which showed that 47 per cent of those claiming to be underage were adults. The new 49 per cent figure covers the 482 unaccompanied asylum seekers who came to Hamburg from January to September of this year, Die Welt reports.

Across Germany this year there have been a total of 55,890 asylum seekers claiming to be under the age of 18 but according to the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, 24,116, or 43 percent, were officially adults.

Underage minors go through a different process than adults in Germany.  Those defined as “minors” receive different services than adults.

A trophy for fake news of the week? Al Franklin? Trophy for real heroes? Native American code breakers?

A trophy for fake  USA  news of the week  goes to?

A trophy for fake news of the week goes to …? Al Franklin?   And trophies  for  real heroes this week   go to?

Fake apology of the week trophy  goes  to Republican  Al Franklin who can’t say exactly what he is apologizing for.  He  made an on the air apology for  fondling an  attractive woman’s breasts   while on an airplane.   Al  Franklin  does not remember   ‘the kiss’  as described by the woman — nor  does he apologize for it.

Fake news award  trophy for the week  goes to ….   Democrat Senator  Elizabeth Warren aka  “Pocahontas”  who President Trump slams for faking  Native American heritage which she used to further her graduate school career. Doubtful that Warren will apologize for that bad behavior  which she engaged in  many  moons  ago.

Fake defense  of the week ….?   That award  goes to Democrat Nancy Pelosi  who describes  Democrat John Conyers as an “icon”…   An icon of what?  Revere John Conyers for successfully covering up money paid by taxpayers in 2015  related to charges of  sexual harassment?

And who are some  heroes of the week?     How about  the Native American code talkers who were honored recently by President Trump.    They are  true heroes.   And  how about  the heroine Pocahontas who in 1607 saved the life (so it goes) of John Smith,  an Englishman who was captured by Native Americans.    She was a true heroine.

Some info on Pocahontas  below:

Pocahontas, a real Native American heroine to tell children about

Pocahontas (born Matoaka, known as Amonute, c. 1596–1617) was a Native American[2][3][4] teenager notable for her association with the colonial settlement at Jamestown, Virginia. Pocahontas was the daughter of Powhatan, the paramount chief[2] of a network of tributary tribal nations in the Tsenacommacah, encompassing the Tidewater region of Virginia. In a well-known historical anecdote, she is said to have saved the life of a captive of the Native Americans, the Englishman John Smith, in 1607 by placing her head upon his own when her father raised his war club to execute him. Some historians have suggested that this story, as told by Smith, is untrue.[5]

Yes, honor Native American code breakers that helped win World War II.  And call a fake a fake  –  Elizabeth Warren as “Pocahontas” is and was a fake for  saying that she is Native American when she applied to Harvard and Penn. There’s lots of fake news out there.
