The Palestinian way: Marry your rapist

More than 50% of  Palestinians — men and women  — think a woman should marry her rapist. That seems bizarre and  outlandish  by Western standards. The picture to left  shows a group marriage of child brides in  Palestine.

Below is a picture of an 11 year old who was forced to marry her rapist.

Iraq, Bahrain, Kuwait and Palestine have similar ‘marry-your-rapist laws.

Egypt is the worst country for women in the Arab world, closely followed by Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Yemen, according to gender experts surveyed in a Thomson Reuters Foundation poll.

These are the results of a U.N. Women study which finds horrifying attitudes and behaviors toward women in the Muslim world.

64% of “Palestinian” men say that women who dress provocatively deserve to be sexually harassed. 52% believe that women who are in public places at night are asking to be harassed.

57% think that a woman should marry her rapist and 47% believe that women who are honor killed for bringing “shame” to their families usually did something to deserve it.

A third of “Palestinian” men say that women who don’t wear hijabs deserve to be insulted.

And the women aren’t much better.

More “Palestinian” women than men justify sexual harassment in public places. 54% believe that a woman who was raped should marry her rapist. 41% don’t think he should be prosecuted.

43% of “Palestinian” women agree that women who are out in public at night deserve to be harassed.

Half the population knew of an honor killing that had taken place in their community in the previous year.

Earth warming? Sea levels rising? Skeptics say no & new evidence supports the Skeptics

Is the earth getting hotter? Skeptics say no and new evidence supports NO.

Is the earth getting warmer?  And the waters rising?    The True Believers (Al Gore and others)  are convinced that  that the earth is getting hotter.

And then  there are the Skeptics.    The Skeptics continue to say that there’s been no increase in warming for the last 18 years.   Skeptics have said that  the  18 year gap (no actual warming)  shows that  the models indeed  are wrong.

Now there’s new  evidence which shows  that the models are indeed wrong. See below:

A scientific consensus has emerged among top mainstream climate scientists that “skeptics” or “lukewarmers” were not long ago derided for suggesting — there was a nearly two-decade long “hiatus” in global warming that climate models failed to accurately predict or replicate.A new paper, led by climate scientist Benjamin Santer, adds to the ever-expanding volume of “hiatus” literature embracing popular arguments advanced by skeptics, and even uses satellite temperature datasets to show reduced atmospheric warming.

More importantly, the paper discusses the failure of climate models to predict or replicate the “slowdown” in early 21st century global temperatures, which was another oft-derided skeptic observation.

“In the early twenty-first century, satellite-derived tropospheric warming trends were generally smaller than trends estimated from a large multi-model ensemble,” reads the abstract of Santer’s paper, which was published Monday.

“Over most of the early twenty-first century, however, model tropospheric warming is substantially larger than observed,” reads the abstract, adding that “model overestimation of tropospheric warming in the early twenty-first century is partly due to systematic deficiencies in some of the post-2000 external forcings used in the model simulations.”

The paper caught some prominent critics of global climate models by surprise. Dr. Roger Pielke, Sr. tweeted “WOW!” after he read the abstract, which concedes “model tropospheric warming is substantially larger than observed” for most of the early 21st Century.

Comments about Trump’s son-in-law getting a car & driver — hard ball is a foul ball

Hard ball is a foul ball

Jared Kushner, senior adviser to the President, has a car and driver?  Oh no!

Hard ball is a foul ball.    On his Hardball show of May 30th, Matthews got bent out of shape over the fact that Jared Kushner . . . might have a car and driver take him to work at the White House. After video rolled of Kushner emerging from what is presumably his DC home and getting into an SUV with someone at the wheel, a vexed Matthews said:

“Does Kushner have a driver and a car? How does that work? He works in the White House as one of the staffers. Does he get a car and a driver? It looks like some sort of SUV that takes him to work . . . This is pretty high-level stuff here. It looks like he’s some sort of major security official.”

Kushner is a government employee whose official title is “senior adviser to the President.” Guess who held the same position in the Obama administration? Yup: Valerie Jarrett. Jarrett famously received a Secret Service detail and was driven to work by government drivers.

Asylum seeker molests 14 in Austria. Sentence?

Austrian justice for molesting women

Welcome to Austrian justice.

A  25-year-old asylum seeker from Afghanistan has been sentenced to two years in prison for sexually molesting 14 women over a four month period. The Afghan migrant was sentenced in Vienna this week after admitting he had molested over a dozen women between the ages of 18 and 36. He is said to have hung around the Reumannplatz area from November to February in the evenings and at night to find his victims, Die Presse reports.

“I have made mistakes and beg your pardon, I know I am guilty,” the migrant told the court. He is said to have approached his victims from behind and then held them and tried to touch their genitals against their will. In five of the attacks he succeeded in molesting the women and in the other nine cases, the women were able to fight him off.

One victim told the court how the migrant had approached her and grabbed her. She claimed that after she screamed the migrant let her go. She also noted that as a result of the attack she now suffers from panic attacks and is afraid to go out alone at night.

Some of the victims told the court how they fought the man off with kicks to the abdomen and one with pepper spray. The Afghan was eventually caught by police after security camera footage and police surveillance of the area led to his arrest in February.

The 25-year-old said that he had come to Austria to seek asylum from the Taliban in his home country and told the court he had already completed several courses.

Why Trump went to Saudi Arabia: Pelosi practices her ABCs

Why Saudi Arabia visit asks Pelosi

Why Saudi Arabia first? inquires Democrat party leader

Nancy Pelosi.    Pelosi did not like the choice of Saudi Arabia.
During a press briefing on Thursday, the House Minority Leader criticized the president’s choice of visiting Saudi Arabia first during his inaugural foreign trip.

“I thought it was unusual for the President of the United States to go to Saudi Arabia first. Saudi Arabia!” Pelosi said.

“It wasn’t even alphabetical. I mean, Saudi Arabia.”

The Democrat leader contrasted Trump’s visit with George W. Bush first visiting Mexico, and Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama visiting Canada first.

“Our friends and neighbors,” she said. “What was the decision-making process to go to Saudi Arabia first? That is a question that I have,” she said.

If Trump were to begin visiting foreign countries by alphabetical order, he would first visit Afghanistan, followed by Albania, Algeria, Andorra and Angola.

Is Nancy Pelosi really advocating for a Sesame Street strategy to boost foreign relations?

UCLA hires student advocates — to “educate” peers about ‘whiteness’ and ‘patriarchy’

UCLA Hiring Student ‘Social Justice Advocates’ to Fight Against ‘Whiteness’ and ‘Patriarchy’

This is not a drill.  Big Brother is taking names.

The backlash against the University of Arizona hiring “social justice advocates,” hourly employees who, as part of their duties, would be watching and reporting other students for “bias incidents,” was swift and pointed. Arizona only responded by changing the creepy job title, which generated another round of criticism.

You might think the explosion of awful PR would serve as a warning for other schools — but you’d only think that if you haven’t been paying attention. The rest of you could have predicted that, say, UCLA wouldn’t want to be considered less “woke” than Arizona:

The University of California-Los Angeles is offering to pay students to serve as “Social Justice Advocates” who will “educate” their peers about “systems [of] oppression.”

The Social Justice Advocates program seeks students who want to help their classmates “navigate a world that operates on whiteness, patriarchy, and heteronormativity as the primary ideologies,” and comes with a quarterly stipend, the amount of which has yet to be determined.

“Social Justice Advocates will systems [of] oppression and how they intersect and build upon each other to maintain the status quo,” the description continues. “Most importantly individuals and the collective will be empowered through liberatory scholarship and practices and strengthening their emotional intelligence to create change within their spheres of influence.”

you get what you sow: American Spectator rumors on FBI Comey are corroborated

FBI Comey tries to blend in with blue  curtains

“The American Spectator can now report a follow-up on the World Exclusive we published on May 17, with a correction. Our May 17 story reported that James B. Comey was caught on surveillance cameras in the White House blowing his nose on the curtains. The surveillance tapes have been turned over to Attorney General Jeff Sessions for a determination as to whether government property was damaged, which could lead to a stiff prison sentence and a hefty fine. After all Mr. Comey was, at the time, a government servant.

Now the New York Times has corroborated our story in a front-page account that mentions “the blue curtains,” but the Times corrected our erroneous claim that the encounter took place in “early February.” The encounter took place according to the Times on January 22. AmSpec has verified the correct date.

According to the Times story that appeared today: “Mr. Comey — who is 6 feet 8 inches tall and was wearing a dark blue suit that day — told Mr. Wittes [a friend of his] that he tried to blend in with the blue curtains in the back of the room, in the hopes that Mr. Trump would not spot him and call him out. ‘He thought he had gotten through and not been noticed or singled out and that he was going to get away….’”

For Mr. Comey that was not the case. The Times continues: “But Trump spotted Comey and called him out.” Exactly what was said between the two men is not known. As we reported on May 17, Comey is known around the department for his loud nose-blowing, and perhaps the ever-alert President Trump actually witnessed Mr. Comey in the act of blowing his nose on the curtain. At, any rate the Times goes on to report that, “With an abashed look on his face, Mr. Comey walked up to Mr. Trump.” Presumably special counsel Robert Mueller III will be looking into the matter and possibly the President will at some point tweet his account

Whatever the case The American Spectator — and now the New York Times — will be keeping the reading public up to date on these important developments.”

500 fainting couches needed — quick — at Orange Coast College in CA

fainting couches needed at Orange Coast College

Sociology professor bans Republican Club

Quick – we need 500 fainting couches over here.

As Republican Club students  are not allowed to attend a  college discussion.
The  sociology professor cited an ‘expectation that this is a safe space event.’
A professor at Orange Coast College in California banned the school’s Republican Club from attending a public African American/Women’s round table discussion in March — apparently over “safe space” concerns.
Jessica Alabi, a sociology professor, apparently e-mailed three campus officials announcing that she would not allow the students to attend.
The e-mail, a copy of which was obtained by the Washington Examiner, stated: Hi Kevin. I just told the Republican club that they could not come to the Curl Talk event. This event is an African American / Women’s round table discussion. I asked Vincent why was he doing this and I was very upset. He brought five people who kept saying that they were told that they could come to women’s history month events.  I just want everyone to be advised that the African American female students had and still have an expectation that this is a safe space event. If the college will not stand up to the Republican club, I have decided to stand up for myself and other students. Just wanted to keep you informed.

taxing space rockets: Ok Mr Spock stop at the California toll station

CA plans to  tax  space rocket travel

OK Mr. Spock, stop at the California toll station.

In California, they are taking the idea one step farther, planning to tax space rockets by the mile as well.

According to the proposal, California will collect tax from space transportation companies based on a formula factoring in how often a company launches spacecrafts out of the state, and, most importantly, how far a commercial spacecraft travels from California soil. Between May and mid-October, there were eight launches from Vandenberg Air Force Base, in Santa Barbara County about 50 miles south of San Luis Obispo.

The Franchise Tax Board proposal said certainty about tax treatment “will lead to increased activity in the industry and will foster an atmosphere of growth and prosperity once present during the golden age of California’s aviation industry, thereby creating jobs as the industry thrives in this state.”

wood paneling oppresses students? oppressive to woodpeckers?

students think wood paneling is oppressive.

Wood paneling in student union oppresses students?

When the University of Michigan decided to renovate the century-old Michigan Union building, they thought it would be nice to get some input from students on the direction the renovations should take. In theory, not a bad idea.

Unfortunately, the university forgot this is the outrage generation, and should have expected that a student would express concern that minorities are oppressed by FINISHED WOOD:

Anna Wibbelman, former president of Building a Better Michigan, an organization that voices student concerns about university development, stated at a student government meeting in late March that “ minority students felt marginalized by quiet, imposing masculine paneling” found throughout the 100-year-old building, the meeting’s minutes state.

“I believe it was an off-hand comment about how many students felt marginalized by the quiet nature of the building when they entered,” she told The College Fix via email.

It’s one thing to say you find certain architecture or design “oppressive,” as in stuffy or uncomfortable. It’s a whole different thing to call the walls racist.

This woman literally thought that students of a certain skin color would be freaked out by an old building. “Triggered” by architecture. And not even architecture that looks like a Klan hood or a penis. Just wood paneling.
