State of California  now actively fights the U.S. federal government concerning on-the-books  federal  immigration laws. States do not set immigration policy and states do not defend a country’s borders.  Is this revolution by one state against the union of states?

Illegals welcome to stay:  CA Gov. Brown’s budget has $15 – 30 million to assist illegal persons (who enter illegally, overstay their visa)  to remain in California.

Legal assistance to fight federal government paid for by CA taxpayers:   Gov. Brown extended the contract with former Attorney General Eric Holder.  This contract  costs CA taxpayers $25 K a month.

What Eric Holder does may well help keep San Salvador’s M13 bad dudes here in California. President Trump campaigned to make USA borders secure and to deport bad criminals.

What to do?   Let’s change the immunity  laws so that individuals harmed by CA state  and cities   — remember Kate Steinle  murdered in San Francisco by an illegal—  can get damages.

Yes,  it is possible to change laws related to the immunity of government against suits.  Louisiana passed laws changing immunity related to road hazards.  Then let’s start there:   Illegals who drive on CA roads are a safety hazard.

At Tufts, a group called Students for Justice in Palestine decided to place an anti-Israel divestment resolution on the school senate’s agenda on the evening before the Jewish holiday of Passover, at a time when many Jewish students would be unable to attend the student government meeting. More than 50 students emailed their “senators” urging them to postpone the vote until after the Jewish holiday. The senate ignored their request.

Similarly at Pitzer College, the student senate unexpectedly held a vote on Easter Sunday on whether to prohibit Student Activities Funds to be used for payment on goods or services from any corporation or organization associated with Israel. Many student senators were not present, and therefore unable to vote, due to their observance of Easter and Passover.

The resolution passed 22-0, with four abstentions.The author of the resolution claimed, absurdly, that the vote occurred on Easter Sunday and during Passover by coincidence. As for why she didn’t announce that the BDS measure would be taken up, the author admitted it was “because my intention was to have it pass.” “I have had enough intellectual conversation about why people disagree with me,” she explained

Trump still beats Hilary 43% to 40% in Washington Post poll – were election today.

Vote for Trump or Hilary today?  The Washington Post does a survey:

“The new survey finds 46 percent saying they voted for Clinton and 43 percent for Trump, similar to her two-point national vote margin.

“Asked how they would vote if the election were held today, 43 say they would support Trump and 40 percent say Clinton.

Australia recently  broadened the test migrants must pass.    The new  test  gauges a migrant’s attitude towards “Australian values”. The new  test includes questions about child marriage, female genital mutilation and domestic violence.

Recently in Sidney a man wearing a Christian cross was beaten and had his cross taken from him by a group of Muslim men and women.  Is it time for countries to defend their values?

Imagine: middle easterners think of nothing but global warming

    climate emergency Climate change responsible? Guess what caused the Brits to leave the European Common Market?  Climate change caused Brexit, Al Gore has claimed.

Gore, who was speaking at an event to promote his latest global warming propaganda documentary – An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth To Power – said the Brexit vote in Britain last summer was the result of “political instability” created by the “stress” caused by climate-change induced chaos in the Middle East.

It all began in Syria, Gore explained, unchallenged by a fawning interviewer from the film magazine Empire.

He proceeded to outline his lavishly complex climate conspiracy theory involving climate change, Syria, and Wikileaks:

“One of the lines of investigation [scientists] have been pursuing has led them to the conclusion that significant areas of the Middle East and North Africa are in danger of becoming uninhabitable

In addition to checking out and re-shelving books, San Francisco library staffers may soon be trained to give lifesaving medication to reverse overdoses among the growing number of heroin users mixing in with the homeless in and around the Main Library.

The idea surfaced after an addict was found dead in one of the Civic Center library’s restrooms in early February.

San Francisco’s Main Library has become a magnet for the city’s exploding homeless population. Coincidentally or not, the neighborhood has seen epidemic numbers of users of heroin and prescription painkillers – opioids such as codeine, morphine and OxyContin.

In 2016, the Main Library tracked 689 instances of patron misbehavior, ranging from vandalism and altercations to verbal disturbances and drug use[.]

… San Francisco has taken a compassionate approach when dealing with the problem, offering both free and unlimited access to syringes.

Carl’s Jr., the iconic California “healthier” fast-food chain, announced earlier this month that it is quitting the Golden State for greener pastures in Tennessee.

Investors Business Daily reports: “CKE Restaurants (Carl Karcher Enterprises), the corporate parent of Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. restaurants, announced that they are relocating to Nashville, Tennessee.”

It adds, however, that “company executives say this with a wink. Tax savings are a big factor, as is the stifling regulatory environment on the left coast, where businesses are treated like villains and rich people as cash dispensers for big government programs.”

CKE is following in the footsteps of something close to 9,000 other companies that have expanded elsewhere or pulled up stakes altogether since 2008, according to a 2016 Breitbart News analysis of a report by Spectrum Location Solutions (VLS), a site selection service for companies.

Tennessee is one of several states aggressively recruiting California companies with generous incentives including free or heavily subsidized real estate, expedited project approvals, and low or no state income tax.  If California continues its current course — and there is no indication of any course correction — more California companies will be tempted to relocate to friendlier climes.

In spite of making noise in Sacramento about addressing California’s notoriously unfriendly business climate — with the creation of yet another bureaucracy known as “GoBiz” ostensibly designed to spur economic growth — Gov. Jerry Brown has signed hundreds of new regulations every year, suffocating business owners with more paperwork, requirements and restrictions that suck up their time, and tax their resources.

One of the most disturbing sections in Spectrum’s 2016 report on why businesses leave California is titled:  “Why California’s Business Environment is Likely to Worsen.”  Most of the author’s more fearful predictions have already come true, making his summation sound prophetic:

“California is considering imposing a broad set of taxes on businesses in 2016 and 2017 — a ‘tsunami’ of levies that may trigger the harshest levies on private-sector finances ever organized by the state. The proposals, if enacted, will worsen California’s business environment, so much so that a result may be an increasing number of businesses leaving California for greener domestic or international pastures.”

The only real question remaining is: which California company will be next to leave.

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – Mexicans who help build U.S. President Donald Trump’s planned border wall would be acting immorally and should be deemed traitors, the Catholic Archdiocese of Mexico said on Sunday, turning up the heat on a simmering dispute over the project.

In a provocative editorial, the country’s biggest Archdiocese sought to increase pressure on the government to take a tougher line on companies aiming to profit from the wall, which has strained relations between Trump and the Mexican government.

“Any company intending to invest in the wall of the fanatic Trump would be immoral, but above all, its shareholders and owners should be considered traitors to the homeland,” said the editorial in Desde la fe, the Archdiocese’s weekly publication.

On Tuesday, Economy Minister Ildefonso Guajardo warned firms it would not be in their “interests” to participate in the wall. But the editorial accused the government of responding “tepidly” to those eyeing the project for business.

A spokesman for the Archdiocese, which centers on Mexico City and is presided over by the country’s foremost Roman Catholic cleric, Cardinal Norberto Rivera, said the editorial represented the views of the diocese.

Target: CEO forgot business for politics

target boycott Target’s CEO forgot that he is in the retail business – not politics.   Target’s CEO allows  men use the women’s restrooms and fitting rooms.

           The stock value of transgender-champion Target Corp. crashed by 13.5 percent this week after the company’s sales again fell below investors’ expectations.

Target’s stock value is now down by 30 percent since it sparked a consumer boycott by embracing the transgender political agenda. That 30 percent drop has slashed investors’ wealth by roughly $15 billion.  Clearly, people care about privacy of  restrooms.

On Tuesday, the stock fell to $58.78, down from its April 19 high of $83.98. In contrast, WalMart is up 3 percent since April, and Kohl’s is down less than one percent.

Company officials indirectly acknowledged the consumer boycott. “Our fourth-quarter results reflect the impact of rapidly changing consumer behavior, which drove very strong digital growth but unexpected softness in our stores,” Target CEO Brian Cornell said in a company statement. The company also admitted that it would likely continue to experience losses through the year.

Leaders at the American Family Association highlighted the company’s worsening situation. “The American Family Association has called for a boycott of Target since last April after the chain publicized the fact that it would allow men to use the women’s restrooms and fitting rooms in their stores,” said a statement from Tim Wildmon, president of the AFA.
