Firenze Sage: slavery for real… [legal under Islamic Sharia law]

1/2 million Islamic slaves legal under Sharia law

Currently, there are half a million Black slaves in Islamic Mauritania …

In Mauritania, the anti-slavery group SOS Esclaves estimates there are about 500,000 black African slaves among the country’s population of 3.1 million.

Their masters are Arab and Berber Mauritanians, who share only the same Islamic religion with their chattel.

Unlike in Sudan, where the Arabs get their African slaves from old-fashioned, brutal slave raids, the Mauritanian slaves are the product of a system that has kept them in a state of bondage for generations, going back, in some cases, several hundred years.

A larger problem is that the abomination of slavery in Mauritania and other Arab countries will be difficult to eradicate.

Slavery is an ingrained, centuries-old institution in Islamic countries. It is also legal under Sharia law.

According to historian Bernard Lewis, slavery is “elaborately regulated.” As a part of “God’s law,” slavery will be difficult to abolish, as one Egyptian Islamic theologian, Dr. Abu Zayd, discovered. When Zayd contended that “keeping slave girls and taxing non-Muslims” was contrary to Islam, he was declared an apostate, and an Egyptian court forcibly divorced him from his wife, since a Muslim woman cannot be married to a non-Muslim.

$535 MILLION stimulus money wasted on failed solar startup Soylyndra.

Billionaire George Kaiser, a major fundraiser for Obama, got $535 MILLION from the Department of Energy for solar startup Soylyndra. As the CAO says no due diligence was done by the government, the taxpayers pick up the tab for this failed exercise in creating jobs via stimulus money.

“Before yesterday, I thought “Solyndra” was a food additive*. But now I suspect we’ll be hearing a lot more about that company:

President Obama faces political catastrophe in the form of Solyndra — a San Francisco Bay area solar company that he touted as a gleaming example of green technology. It has announced it will declare Chapter 11 bankruptcy. More than 1,100 people will lose their jobs.

During a visit to the Fremont facility in spring of 2010, the President said the factory “is just a testament to American ingenuity and dynamism and the fact that we continue to have the best universities in the world, the best technology in the world, and most importantly the best workers in the world.”

It’s not his statements the administration will regret; it’s the loan guarantees. The President was celebrating $535 million in federal promises from the Department of Energy to the solar start-up. The administration didn’t do its due diligence, says the Government Accountability Office. “There’s a consequence if you don’t follow a rigorous process that’s transparent,” Franklin Rusco of GAO told the website iWatch News.

Brutal tone in the coverage, huh? Yeah, Ed Driscoll noticed, too: “Wow, which radical right-wing deathbeast Obama-hating Rethuglican Web site ran that headline? Err, NBC’s Bay Area affiliate.”

“You will be shocked to learn that Solyndra’s majority owner, Oklahoma billionaire George Kaiser, was a major fundraiser for the 2008 Obama-Biden campaign,” observes Karl at Patterico’s Pontifications.

At the Moderate Voice, Logan Penza concludes:

If massive federal spending does actually succeed in permanently creating or saving large numbers of jobs (an assertion which is often long on rhetoric and short on evidence), it must rely on targeting companies based on their ability to compete rather than merely their participation in a political effort like “green energy.” If we are going to saddle our economy with huge new debts in the hope that we can stave off another recession, we really need to be more sure that the investments we make are cost-effective instead of merely politically convenient. The Obama Administration appears to have neglected that imperative the first time around.

At Michelle Malkin’s site, Doug Powers ties this development to the Big Obama Speech That Will Save the Economy: “During President Obama’s upcoming job speech, if you do a shot whenever you hear the words ‘invest in clean energy’ you’ll be asleep before the teleprompter’s internal cooling fan kicks into action. Not that it was necessary, but here’s yet another reason to be extremely wary of that repeated green clarion call.”

Aptos psychologist: Change solar panel Soylndra to produce Soylent Green food rations and re-coop $335 Million?

Switch Soylyndra from solar panels to Soylent Green food rationing?
Switch Soylndra from solar panels to Soylent Green food rationing?

Soylndra, touted by President Obama to produce green jobs, goes belly up at a cost of $335 MILLION for U.S. taxpayers. Soylndra produced solar panels; eleven hundred California workers will lose their jobs. Soylndra is the third U.S. solar company to go broke in less than a month.

Can taxpayers recoop some of those lost stimulus millions?

How about converting part of the Soylndra property to a drive in theater lot. And show old classic pctures such as Soylent Green.

Instead of solar panels have the plant produce to “soylent green” food rations. For publicity, sell the soylent green food rations at the drive in along with candy and popcorn.

For humanitarian purposes and Obama’s penchant for “leading from the rear” the Obama government can buy and stock pile soylent green food rations for the next humanitarian war akin to Libya. Dropping green wafers from the sky is something any NATO plane can do without high level U.S. intelligence.

Remember the movie Soylent Green? With Obama at the helm of the economy that may be the future Obama seeks for America. Instead of exceptionalism of military, economic and cultural pre-eminence America’s future may be worse off that the most distressed areas of Africa where war and poverty are rampent.

Soylent Green is a 1973 American science fiction film directed by Richard Fleischer. Starring Charlton Heston, the film overlays the police procedural and science fiction genres as it depicts the investigation into the brutal murder of a wealthy businessman in a dystopian future suffering from pollution, overpopulation, depleted resources, poverty, dying oceans and a hot climate due to the greenhouse effect. Much of the population survives on processed food rations, including “soylent green”.

The film, which is loosely based upon the 1966 science fiction novel Make Room! Make Room!, by Harry Harrison, won the Nebula Award for Best Dramatic Presentation and the Saturn Award for Best Science Fiction Film in 1973.

In the year 2022, the population has grown to forty million people in New York City alone. Most housing is dilapidated and overcrowded, and the homeless fill the streets and line the fire escapes and stairways of buildings.

Food as we know it in present times is a rare and expensive commodity. Most of the world’s population survives on processed rations produced by the massive Soylent Corporation, including Soylent Red and Soylent Yellow, which are advertised as “high-energy vegetable concentrates.” The newest product is Soylent Green, a small green wafer which is advertised as being produced from “high-energy plankton.” It is much more nutritious and palatable than the red and yellow varieties, but, like most other food, it is in short supply, which often leads to food riots. [CA mental health employee] and the Golden Globe getaway…

Taxpayers pay for CA public employee to attend

An auditor’s report revealed the latest ways California public employees have squandered thousands of taxpayer dollars – starting with the state Mental Health Department executive who contended that attending the Golden Globe Awards and a Julio Iglesias concert was essential to his job.

It wasn’t, State Auditor Elaine Howle said, and the cost to taxpayers for the executive’s celebrity schmoozing and other activities in 2009, the year she examined, was $51,244. The employee has since left state government.

Firenze Sage: (Elisha Dawkins) Public enemy?

Elisha Dawkins
Elisha Dawkins, a Navy reservist and decorated Army combat photographer who served in Iraq, is in jail, charged with passport fraud. He’s facing 10 years in prison for what could be a simple misunderstanding. A federal indictment states that Dawkins started to fill out a passport application in 2004, didn’t complete it, then filled out a new application two years later.

On that new application, he checked a box “no” for the question, “Have you ever applied before?” according to the indictment.

Firenze Sage: (about remarks by Sen. Mark Leno) Liar, liar, your pants are on fire …

Harvey Milk, day he was elected Mayor of San Francisco. New law requires public instruction on contributions of gays & transgendered

A socially conservative organization based in Sacramento filed documents Friday afternoon to start a voter referendum on a controversial law; the law requires that the contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered persons is added to school instruction.

Sen. Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, who introduced the Senate Bill, said he was not surprised that the institute, which he called “extremist,” took this step.

“I think it will be a challenge for them to get the signatures,” Leno said.”If they succeed in that, I bet Californians” reject it, he added.

And when the vote is 72% against public school instruction on the history of transgender heroics, will you, Leno, call yourself an extremist? No, you will blame Fox News, Ronald Reagan and everyone you perceive as hating Harvey Milk who died because he was in the way and not because anyone cared that he was queer.

Firenzie Sage: (ecosexuality) Another subject for the California curricula

Ecosexuality: Earth as Lover, not Mother
Ecosexuality: Earth as Lover, not Mother

Elizabeth Stephens and Annie Sprinkle are a legally married same-sex couple, having tied the knot in Canada in 2007. But they don’t consider lesbianism their primary sexual identity.

First and foremost, they’re ecosexuals.

Taking tree-hugging to a whole new level, Stephens and Sprinkle have married the moon, the sky, the ocean, the Appalachian Mountains and the snow in a series of color-coordinated, nudist-friendly weddings that have attracted hundreds of people. And they’ve done it all in the name of ecosexuality.

Asked to sum up the nascent ecosexual movement in a sentence, Stephens (who chairs the UC Santa Cruz art department) replies, “We’re changing the metaphor from Earth as mother to Earth as lover.”

Demagoguary from Schultz causes Allen West to comment back

Don’t Make Allen West Angry. You Wouldn’t Like Him When He’s Angry!

Come on, Allen West, tell us what you really think.

After Debbie Wasserman Schultz accused West (without naming him directly) of preferring a plan that “slashes Medicaid and critical investments essential to winning the future in favor of protecting tax breaks for Big Oil, millionaires, and companies who ship American jobs overseas,” he responded to her via e-mail:

Look, Debbie, I understand that after I departed the House floor you directed your floor speech comments directly towards me. Let me make myself perfectly clear, you want a personal fight, I am happy to oblige.

You are the most vile, unprofessional, and despicable member of the US House of Representatives. If you have something to say to me, stop being a coward and say it to my face, otherwise, shut the heck up. Focus on your own congressional district!
